- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled
- 1/4 cup coffee liqueur
- 24 ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale.
- Heat milk in a saucepan, then mix with egg mixture.
- Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Let it cool, then fold in mascarpone cheese.
- In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
- Combine espresso and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger in the coffee mixture.
- Layer soaked ladyfingers in a dish, followed by mascarpone mixture.
- Repeat layers, finishing with the mascarpone mixture.
- Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.
