Tiramisu Valentine’s Day: 7 Steps to Romantic Bliss

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale.
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan, then mix with egg mixture.
  3. Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
  4. Let it cool, then fold in mascarpone cheese.
  5. In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  7. Combine espresso and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  8. Quickly dip each ladyfinger in the coffee mixture.
  9. Layer soaked ladyfingers in a dish, followed by mascarpone mixture.
  10. Repeat layers, finishing with the mascarpone mixture.
  11. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  12. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.
