Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
- Divide the batter into two bowls. Add red food coloring to one and pink to the other.
- Pour the batters into the prepared pans and swirl them together slightly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool before removing from pans.
- Frost with buttercream and add decorative sprinkles.
