Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
- If desired, add food coloring.
- Pour into a greased candy mold or onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Can be wrapped in cellophane for gifts.
- Use different food colorings for variety.
