Ingredients

- 2 filet mignon steaks, 6 oz each
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup asparagus, trimmed
- 1/2 cup mashed potatoes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the filet mignon with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Add garlic and butter, then transfer the skillet to the oven for 6-8 minutes.
- In another pot, cook the asparagus in boiling water for 3-4 minutes.
- Plate the steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus.
- Drizzle red wine reduction over the steak before serving.
Notes
- Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Pair with a nice red wine.
- Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
