Ingredients

  • 2 filet mignon steaks, 6 oz each
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup asparagus, trimmed
  • 1/2 cup mashed potatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the filet mignon with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  5. Add garlic and butter, then transfer the skillet to the oven for 6-8 minutes.
  6. In another pot, cook the asparagus in boiling water for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Plate the steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus.
  8. Drizzle red wine reduction over the steak before serving.

Notes

  • Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Pair with a nice red wine.
  • Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
